The Arrogant Leader is the person who thinks he or she has all the answers and has nothing left to learn.
I’m thinking about writing another book someday called, The Arrogant Executive: how to ruin a business in five minutes or less. The Arrogant Leader works in the ultimate silo, one in which no one else’s ideas ever penetrate his or her brain. Soon employees stop trying to offer ideas and eventually they stop pouring their passion and talent toward supporting this person.
Two Questions to Avoid The Disastrous Arrogant Leader Approach
1. What have you done today to learn at least two ideas for improving your business or your impact as a leader?
2. In what ways have you shot down other people’s ideas and what can you do to avoid doing that in the future?
