One Lunch Per Week With One New Person

Most problems in business can be traced to poor working relationships.

I’m talking about the people whom you don’t know well or do know and don’t get along with. Those are the folks you need to develop better relationships with. A good starting point is to go to lunch with them and focus your effort on listening with empathy.

Make a list of these people. Ask one person to lunch each week. Keep it very simple. Perhaps say, “We work together, but I don’t really know you. Can we have lunch next week and just chat for awhile?”

A little bit of a friendly relationship is way better than none at all.
